Dear Colleagues,

Daniel Evan White, a 1962 graduate of UBC’s School of Architecture, passed away on April 12 following an extended struggle with Multiple System Atrophy. Dan’s extensive body of architectural work was primarily residential, following closely in the West Coast modernist tradition. Admired greatly by those in the architectural community familiar with his work, his projects included bold, complex, yet highly geometric designs which were able to confidently hold their own against extremely challenging sites.

Greg Johnson, Martin Lewis, and several other colleagues of Dan, with the help of Michel Lis, Daniel Irvine, and Chad Manley – all recent M.Arch. graduates – are preparing a retrospective of his work in conjunction with the Museum of Vancouver, scheduled for the Fall 2013.

There will be a service at 3:00 pm on Friday May 4 at St. Mary’s Kerrisdale Church, 2490 West 37th Avenue in Vancouver.
